Privacy Policy

Overview
TriCloset ("we," "us," or "our") operates the TriCloset application at tricloset.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We keep things simple: your data is used to run the app for you, not to sell to anyone else.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up with email, we store your email address and a hashed (never plaintext) password. When you sign up via Strava, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Strava.
Gear data. Equipment you add manually or that is synced from Strava: name, brand, model, purchase date, purchase price, photos, and notes.
Activity data. When you connect Strava, we pull your activity history (distance, duration, elevation, date, and activity type) to calculate wear and usage metrics on your gear. We do not store GPS routes or maps.
Maintenance logs. Service records you enter manually within the app.
Usage data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and debugging. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide gear tracking, wear calculations, and TriVerify reports.
- To display your profile and preferences within the app.
- To generate shareable TriVerify reports when you choose to share them.
- To respond to support requests sent to support@tricloset.com.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your activity data for advertising.
Strava Integration
TriCloset connects to Strava via their official OAuth API. We request read-only access to your activities and profile. We do not post to Strava or modify any data on your behalf. You can disconnect Strava at any time from your account settings, which revokes our access token. You can also revoke access directly from your Strava settings.
Sharing Your Data
We do not share your personal data with third parties except as necessary to operate the service (e.g. our database provider, Supabase, and file storage via Vercel Blob). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
TriVerify reports you choose to share generate a public link. That link exposes your bike's usage history and estimated value to anyone with the URL. You control whether to share it.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@tricloset.com and we will process the request within 30 days.
Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plaintext. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Gear photos are stored in a private blob store and served only to authenticated owners.
Your Rights
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by contacting support@tricloset.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of TriCloset after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
